GoodFoot

South East Portland is a community different than any other I've been to in Portland. SE is jammed full of interesting people who live a different lifestyle than most. I'm already a fan of local pubs The Horse Brass and Biddy McGraws (actually in NE), and GoodFoot made a good impression as well. I arrived a bit late on a Saturday night, but the bar was still full and the people still happy.

The GoodFoot's crowd isn't typical and that is why I instantly liked this place. The majority of men at the bar were sporting the Grizzly Adams look with full thick beards. And it was obvious that people had gotten there clothes someplace besides the mall. These people weren't here to show off, they were here to be themselves and enjoy the band. A very different feeling than you get in downtown's club hopping scene. If you have trouble being yourself, please stay away.

The band the night I went was playing some kicking tunes and 70% of the people were out on the dance floor. Others enjoyed the comfy booths or played pool at one of the two tables they have. Another interesting feature the GoodFoot has is art on the wall. No bar I know of does this, and I kind of like it. Your get the feeling that deep conversations and artistic ideas are discovered reguarly at GoodFoot.

Cool people, good music, and a comfortable atmosphere make GoodFoot an ideal destination any day of the week.
