Panorama Pine Street Theater Polly Esthers Portsmouth Club |
When you choose a dance club to go to you have to keep a couple of different things in mind: the type of people, music, and cost.
Polly Esthers has a good crowd of people and the music is fun to dance to, so I put up with the cost.
At a cover charge between $7 and $10 a lot of people get angry as they enter this retro 70's club. Drinks aren't cheap either, but that's
life in the big city. If you expect to have any fun on a Friday or Saturday night, expect to pay the price.
If your like me and sick of the Techno phase that is currently hurting our ears at most clubs, Polly Esthers is a good alternative. Not only
do they have a 70's floor, but upstairs is an 80's dance floor. All for the price of one. As you make your way upstairs you pass by the "VIP"
room. The only thing from the looks of it that this room had to offer was a view of the dance floor down below. I got the feeling that this
room stands for Very Important Perverts, because the few guys that were in there just stared down at the ladies dancing below. Don't waste your
time trying to get by the bouncer at the door to the "VIP" room, it has nothing to offer.
Like most dance clubs, Polly Esthers gets a little hot. They capitalize on this unfavorable climate by charging $2.25 for a bottle of water.
Ouch! But, remember your hear for the music, dancing, and horny members of the opposite sex. Worry about how much it cost the next morning
when your not as drunk.
